Tom Turkey in Disguise – Hobo Style Art Nickel | CCX Exclusive | Limited to 15

Part Buffalo. Part Turkey. All Thanksgiving Mischief.

Meet Tom Turkey in Disguise, a limited-edition hobo-style art nickel customized by CCX, bringing a humorous twist to one of America's most recognizable coins.

This imaginative collectible transforms a genuine United States Buffalo nickel into a Thanksgiving-inspired work of art. Featuring a magnificent wild turkey portrait on the obverse and a cleverly disguised buffalo-turkey hybrid on the reverse, the design blends American wildlife, autumn scenery, and playful holiday storytelling.

With a strictly limited mintage of just 15 pieces, Tom Turkey in Disguise is a distinctive addition to collections celebrating Thanksgiving, Americana, and contemporary numismatic artwork.

Obverse – Tom Turkey's Portrait

The traditional Native American portrait of the Buffalo nickel is reimagined as a striking, right-facing wild turkey.

Tom's elaborate plumage features richly layered bronze, copper, brown, and iridescent green feathers, creating remarkable texture and depth throughout the portrait.

His face displays brilliant blue skin, a prominent golden beak, and vivid red wattles, capturing the unmistakable appearance of a wild turkey.

Long, striped feathers extend behind his head, echoing the traditional feathered headdress of the original Buffalo nickel design.

The background features a picturesque autumn woodland, with brilliant orange and golden foliage surrounding a peaceful stream winding through a rocky forest landscape.

The original LIBERTY inscription remains visible along the upper-right edge, preserving a recognizable connection to the historic Buffalo nickel.

Reverse – The Buffalo in Disguise

The reverse reveals the playful centerpiece of this release: a turkey attempting to disguise itself as the iconic American buffalo.

At first glance, the figure resembles a powerful, shaggy bison standing in a rustic autumn pasture. A closer look reveals the unmistakable features of a turkey hiding beneath its elaborate disguise.

The creature features:

• A massive, shaggy brown buffalo body with realistic fur detailing

• A brightly colored turkey head with blue facial features and red wattles

• Curved buffalo horns incorporated into the disguise

• Visible stitching, seams, and a zipper holding the buffalo costume together

• Turkey legs and clawed feet emerging beneath the oversized body

• A colorful fan of turkey tail feathers extending from the rear

The humorous design is set against a vibrant Thanksgiving countryside, featuring rustic wooden fencing, golden grass, falling maple leaves, and brilliant orange autumn trees.

The original UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and FIVE CENTS inscriptions remain incorporated into the artwork.

The result is a playful interpretation of the Buffalo nickel, with Tom Turkey making one last attempt to avoid becoming the centerpiece of Thanksgiving dinner.
