Designer: James Ford Clapp, Jr. Sculpted by: Arcangelo Cascieri of Boston Obverse Design: Official NENA emblem with minuteman and 1775 imposed. Reverse Design: CONFERENCE XXXI BOSTON / MDCCLXXV-MCMLXXV. In the field is a depiction of the “sword-in-hand” character from notes first printed on August 18, 1775 to finance the Revolutionary Army. In the background, old (ca 1775) and new (ca 1975) skyline of Boston. Manufacturer: Medallic Art Company - Danbury, CT Notes: Gold filled edge has incuse 1/10 14K G.F. MEDALLIC ART CO.N.Y. Silver edge has incuse MACO--FINE SILVER-.999+. The original Bronze (75-1d) mintage was 700 but 208 were destroyed. The bronze medals have a chocolate brown finish: there are several variations in the darkness. Bronze uniface medals were engraved with NENA / EXHIBITOR / 1975.
