Designer: Richard D. Moore
Obverse Design: Official NENA Emblem
Reverse Design: Inspired by the “Mailed Bust Left” 1787 Connecticut cent with HARTFORD added above and the initials HNS in the beading of the bust (Hartford Numismatic Society).
Manufacturer: The Robbins Company - Attleboro, MA.
Notes: Gold issue has “10K” incused to the left of Roman numeral XV on reverse and was sold by subscription through July 27, 1959. Sterling issue has “STERLING” in the same location.
The frosted sterling issue was a second run of 25 pieces ordered by NENA to prevent an early sell-out. The Robbins Company did not supply the same finish as the original order, thus creating two distinct issues for this year. There were 500 registrations for the convention.
