Designer: Richard August Obverse Design: Official NENA emblem Reverse Design: In the field eagle, anchor, ship, and reverse of the Fugio Cent. 1636 XXIV CONFERENCE 1968 / PROVIDENCE RHODE ISLAND Manufacturer: The Robbins Company - Attleboro, MA Notes: The anchor is from the central design of the RI flag. The eagle is from a design by Robert Scot. With the flagship of Admiral Howe from the RI token of 1799. The total cost of this issue was $1702.13. Originally, 1000 were struck for 1b, 145 were destroyed. Sterling Pieces are marked “STERLING r” to the right of Cape Cod on the obverse.
